 January 18th show. BIG hit
ponygrrl writes
January 18th was amazing at Maggies. A lot of people showed up, and the bands played absolutely great shows. Half The Battle was up first and they ROCKED. Jon-the frontman for the band-sang his f*ing heart out. And he even was so into it, he couldnt stay on stage. You can find out more about the band and their up and coming tour at HalfTheBattle.net.

 Blind Pig 1-9-03
WWghost writes Not only is Mitch demanding more submissions, but now other MB users are as well; someone must have spotted me taking notes at The Blind Pig a couple weeks ago, because when they didn't see my review here, they decided to confront me about it. After being threatened with bodily harm, I made a frantic search for those scribblings and finally wrote up a review. So here are some words about Four Years Gone, I Decline and Inner Recipe, all of whom gave Ann Arbor's Blind Pig a generous dose of raw Rock and Roll. Click "Read More" for wwghost's review.

 SurReal-finally something real
ponygrrl writes I just recieved SurReal's CD and I was absolutely floored when I heard them. The very first song began to play and I was hooked. I cant believe how great they sounded-and this cd was just their first little thing recorded. If this is what they sound like with barely any time to record, and a very sick singer-I cant wait until they get back into the studio and release more. Definately keep an eye out for them, they truely have talent and I am happy to say that I am Hooked on something SurReal.

 HippieChic: In pursuit of a dream . . .
When she's not selling Real Estate in Oakland County, one of our newest members, HippieChic, is scrawling lyrics on the back of napkins, overdue bills and scattered notebooks. Well, she's finally found the courage to join the ranks of performing songwriters and she's agreed to keep us informed of her progress. In this first installment, she takes the first two steps towards recovery: she admits she has a problem and she asks for help. Click "Read More" for Hippie Chic's Diary.

 Review: Hydrophonic's ''ORBITS''
"Orbits" by Hydrophonic is probably the most ambitious local recording I've come across in recent years. It's a thematic work with one track dedicated to each of the nine planets in our solar system. Oh, and two more tracks for the Sun and the Moon. And one for the asteroid belt. Uh, and another one for Triton, which is a moon of Neptune. Well, I guess nine whole planets wasn't enough cosmic fodder for this prolific Lansing-based project. Click "Read More" for the review and important show information.

Are you an ''Innie'' or an ''Outie''?
by WWghost
Do you spend more time perfecting your scales or choosing what shirt you will wear on stage for the next show? Do you find looking good is higher on your priority list than sounding good? Your answers to these questions will help determine if you're and "Innie" or and "Outie". The following is my opinion and analyzation of style versus substance in the music industry. I encourage you to express your opinion in the comments section below this article. Please click "Read More".
