| While the Bands Away, the Fans will Play |
Jakata writes One of Detroit's most well known Power-Pop bands has finally, after years of dedication, received airplay on Detroit's only new rock alternative, 89x (88.7fm), and we're not talking about the *Homeboy Show. Unexpectedly chosen by 89x as a challenger on Phat Matt's *People's Choice on Friday, March 12th, with their song "List" -- The Fags narrowly beat their opponent by only a 53% margin. The band had no time to celebrate this accomplishment as they were scheduled to depart for Austin, Texas on Monday, March 10th to help represent Detroit @ the *South By Southwest convention.

| Music Review: The Process ''Blood and Bones'' |
In the face of a probable war with Iraq, it's fitting to come across a CD with a political point of view that dissents from American realpolitik. "Blood & Bones" by The Process (their eighth full length release since '91's "Mystery Babylon") is thought-provoking in it's politics, reverent in it's spiritualilty and contagious in it's Jah-makin' back-beat. Editor Mitch Phillips goes off on a political bent in another one of his long reviews. Three song samples included. Click "Read More" below.
