Back Fourty - Blazing old trails in a new way
Michigan based Back Forty are bringing their diverse music to ears in southeastern Michigan. The lyrics in their song, "Screen Door" explain the band perfectly: "The smooth transitions of jazz, the harsh chagrin of twang". Their music is as if you were walking through a screen door into the woods of Northern Michigan, and venturing out to the back forty. The core element of the music is folk music, but this is taken to an extreme, as they explore folk sounds from around the world and fuse them with an improvisational style that is unlike any other sound in the area. This may be folk music but it is not your father's folk music.

New band voting system in the works
Link voting has been temporarily taken down from the front page while the system is revamped.  Outside votes form band websites will still work and be calculated.  Look for the new "charts" in the next couple of days.

Over the last week we have received several complaints about voting system abuse.  It is obvious that some are voting 1's for "their competition" in an effort to improve their own position, even going to the extreme of sending email to their followers to vote down another band.  Nobody gains by this kind of abuse and it virtually eliminates any usefulness of the system.

Super Model-t ~ Something For Your Misery
"Reviewed by ibmonkey"
Funny thing about this review; as soon as Jeff said he was “looking forward to it,” I had major flashbacks of blue drinks hanging from neon green rope, a Moose, and then it cuts to me calling a policeman “sir.” But, after all the fast-paced wash of blurry memories, broken speedometers, and sardine can-like bars, I did remember that I actually did walk out of there with a CD, the latest offering from the five-piece band, Supermodel-T. And, like my 100mph Ford Taurus, this disc takes you on a quick ride.

 New MP3's up at BLINDSHAME.com
blindshame2003 writes BLIND SHAME has been VERY busy in the studio lately laying down tracks for their debut album due later this fall. However, since entering the studio, the band has written a handful of new tunes, that the fans and the band itself have come to expect at shows. "We we're like, we have to add this song, and that song on the CD as people really dig these and we love playing them live" said vocalist Shane Douglas. "The entire recording process has taken a lot longer than we have expected, but adding these new songs will definitely be worth the wait" said guitarist Jay Arnold.

In the meantime, the band does have a song up on MP3.com and will add a couple more within the coming weeks.

Be sure to log onto www.blindshame.com for the latest news, show updates and mp3's.

Jocaine and 75 North at The Emerald
On February 13, a thousand people rocked to the rhythm of Jocaine at the "Piggyback Ride EP Release Party". Jason Krause of Kid Rock's band Twisted Brown Trucker and Uncle Kracker jumped on stage and performed with Jo and the boys. It was an amazing night. Veteran Creem Magazine photographer Bob Alford said "I haven't been in a crowd that entertained since J. Geils in '81. I felt like a pinball. It was great!".

As good as that night was, the triumphant return home of the "Piggyback Ride Tour" will blow your minds! With an all new stage show and new songs from the forthcoming full Jocaine release never before heard in public, Jocaine is fired up to close this tour with a bang you won't soon forget. Never has there been an unsigned act with this much staging and few national acts bring the passion and performance you'll witness at a Jocaine show!
