| Review of Space Nelson's Evil Computer From The Future |
|
Although the title “Evil Computer From The Future” actually refers to a strange sound Pete Hoperspberger squeezed out of his synthesizer one day (and I say ‘squeezed’ because said computer is depicted by a menacing chrome juicer on the CD cover), could it also be a reference to the "machine" that churns out formulaic fashion-pop for the music industry year after god-awful-year? Thankfully, we have Space Nelson to fight that diabolical device and boldly go where few local bands fear to tread - and where even fewer succeed.

| The Syndicate's last show... for a while |
|
mgurry writes
The Syndicate will be playing this
Saturday, September 6th, 2003 at Jacoby's in downtown Detroit. This will be our last show for quite some time. After this show, we will be finishing up an album and making a lot of changes. It would help out a lot if we could fill this place up and have a great time before our long break.
We will also have t-shirts available, made especially for this show! And they're only $5. Yes, that's right, $5. That means you can buy a t-shirt and a 5 song
CD sampler for only $10 total.
See you there,
The Syndicate

| Shooting bands, one at a time. |
|
ibmonkey writes
Okay folks, so you’ve got yourself a band. You’ve got a website, a band image, some original tunes and even a couple gigs to start the ball rolling to super stardom. You’re all set, right?
Well, what about pictures?
Probably one of the things that most bands never think about, a good picture will tell the audience who the band is and what they do even before they check out a lo-fi
mp3, as confirmed by a recent thread posted on this site. But whom can you trust to give you the pictures you need? Five words:
Hot Rock Shots dot Com, where the Siren of the Shutter,
Molly Flannery, showcases her work.

| Review: MB 2003 Fundraiser @ Whiskey In The Jar |
|
Having been M.I.A. for the better part of the last three months, going to a party that made my head feel like an Ice-cold Polish ham the next morning was, oddly, just what I needed. The 2003 MB fundraiser held at “Whiskey In The Jar” in Hamtramck on Labor Day was an off - the - hook success! Click “Read More” for Mitch's sordid play by play - what little he remembers, anyway.

PINWHEEL writes I was the drummer TANGENT (with the great PARKER). I had a new calling for my gift and have put together a Christian rock band with an edge. Only problem is, we need a bass and keyboard player to round out the line-up. We have practice space, radio contacts, and a ton of gigs when we are ready. I know that this site does't do a lot with "JESUS" type music, but I also know when you are looking for great musicians this is the place to go. Call me @ 1-248-399-3692. or e-mail tmcintosh0230@wideopenwest.comThanks and, of course, GOD BLESS, Brian

| Tripper back at Arts, Beats & Eats for 4th year |
|
FERNDALE, Mich. – Modern rockers, Tripper return to the Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats festival
(www.artsbeatseats.com) on Aug. 31 at 3:00 p.m. on the Miller Lite Stage. The show marks the fourth consecutive year that the band has performed at the festival.
Giving the band some added spark this year is the release of Buzzlighter, a compilation CD released by Shut-Eye Records of Atlanta, Ga., which features Tripper’s single “Clearly Mistaken” – the opening track of the band’s latest release Yesterday, Friday & Today.
“This is one of our favorite shows every year,” said Tripper guitarist and co-founding member, Steve Marvicsin. “There is
an excellent fan base, it’s a well-run show and we always have a great time, Arts, Beats & Eats has become a long-standing tradition in this area and we’re glad to be a part of it.”
