The holiday season is quickly sneaking up on us, but area musicians are getting into the Christmas spirit a little early. On Saturday, November 29th eleven musical acts from mid-Michigan will gather together at The Old Town Bar & Grill, 109 E. Main St., Brooklyn, to sponsor a Toys For Tots Benefit Jam. This is a great opportunity to listen to some of the premier live bands in the area, and at the same time help Toys For Tots help many needy children have a Merry Christmas!  DEC - Webcaster Alliance Benefit Show Review
sonicdisturbance writes Hamtramck - There is a war coming. The RIAA is on one side, and Freedom of Musical choice is on the other. So the DEC (Detroit Electronica Coalition) is spearheading the local fight. Fast Forward to Paychecks where Industrial and Electronica take over the stage...  Music Review: ''Yesterday, Friday & Today'' by Tripper
It was way back in January of 2003 at Radiocraft's [IN STEREO] CD release party at The Magic Bag where I was twice surprised by Tripper. First, that they had delivered such a sizable following (who promptly dispersed after their set), and two, that they closed with "Lets Go Crazy" by Prince. I admit to being a bit mystified by both occurrences. But Tripper's modern acousti-pop vibe was tight and "Yesterday, Today and Friday" is radio-ready - which isn't necessarily a compliment.
