F-Stop have volunteered to be lab-rats for Eastern Michigan University's "Audio Recording Techniques" semester final exam. The band was approached by student Amanda Habetz (close friend to F-Stop bassist Chris Bryant) to help out her class by allowing three groups of students to record three different songs by the band. In addition to the latest Amazon Blonde news and polls the site also includes a "Blonde Joke 'O The Week", a photo gallery and a forum they've dubbed "The Player's Ball" that's ready for your friendly posts. | International Songwriting Competition Posts '03 Winners |

The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has posted its list of winners for 2003. The ISC received over 11,000 entries from 60 countries and awarded $100,000 in cash and prizes for 13 categories. In only its second year, the ISC boasts over twenty high-profile sponsors including The Berklee College of Music, Erni Ball, Sennheiser and mega-star judges including Rob Thomas, BB King, Nile Rogers, Pat Methany and many others industry pros. The '03 Grand Prize went to New Zealand diva Moana Maniapoto who took the Grand Prize with her song, "Moko" a world-beat number which explains the Maori tradition of tribal tatooing. Though Michigan was woefully underrepresented in the competition, two local names did appear as semi-finalists...

Madison Heights band Garden of Souls is now a member of the Eldar Entertainment stable of artists and will now be working with Marla Swartz. The band is also taking on it's biggest show yet at Emerald Theatre on Thursday, February 26th. They opened for The Unheard and Breakpoint. | Local Bands Planning to KEEP A CHILD ALIVE |

Ann Arbor, MI – Local members of the pop/rock band Almost Famous are planning a benefit show at The Blind Pig for the Keep A Child Alive Foundation which helps children with AIDS. The show will take part in conjunction with the "One World Beat Global Music Festival", a series of concerts taking place over a 3-day weekend providing a platform for socially conscious musicians to unite and convey a message of hope through their music. The Blind Pig show will feature performances by Almost Famous, acoustic/folk singer Kristy Hanson and Detroit's funk-rock phenomena The Howling Diablos.
