| Jay Hussle's FaceBook Flow Available For Download And Sharing |
I finally checked my MB messages after several months (spending too much time on FaceBook these days), I found a message from Pontiac-born-n-raised rapper, Jay Hussle. Seems his flirtation with a major-label has come to a disappointing end so he's decided to release his latest recordings online - which seems perfectly appropriate considering "Facebook Flow" borrows its lyrics from Jay's status updates on Facebook. There are ten tracks waiting for your perusal over at PodBean.com with such pithy posts as, "I'm a henchman / hung up on the politics / If you talk a lot of shit / one day you will swallow it" and "..wake up in the morning with a sexy-ass soccer-mom / flip a couple pancakes / watch the way her ass shakes". Wow, I have to step-up my Facebook game. - Mitch

| New Video: Eddie Leighton is all broke up about the Michigan economy |
Eddie Leighton (of the Eddie Leighton Project) has posted a new video you'll want to check out, particularly if you've suffered any of the ill effects of the Michigan economy as of late. "I'm Broke Up" finds Eddie in unfamiliar waters, struggling to find a job or economic opportunity of any kind. "I've been up and down / I've been all over town / through thick and thin / and no one will help me out / I'm not used to this abuse / because I've never been here before...". He does his best to stay optimistic, and patriotic (even stating the Pledge Of Allegiance) but pulls no punches in laying the blame at the feet of the fat cats who sold us out. You'll want to check this one out. Click Here to see "I'm Broke Up".

| Be Sure To Check Out Michigan Monster |
Hello fellow band heads,
For the last year we've been working on a new website for the Michigan music community. In a nutshell it's a social media site like Myspace or Facebook. The primary purpose is to bring Michigan fans and artists together in one spot. The site allows artists to post music and media. Friends and Fans can join too and network with the community. Indie artists can upload their music and videos and even sell songs like Itunes and SnoCap if they choose. Cover bands are encouraged to sign up too.
You can check out the site and signup for a profile here:

| Michiganbands.com welcomes Shrimpanzee |
Shrimpanzee is perhaps the best known of the "pan-dimensional Kimbockleophonic audio ensembles" arranged, produced and performed by one John Moore of Milford, MI. Among some of the others are OJABOM Media, Nomeus Music, Pet Minotaur, Uneasys, Trick Of Shadow, E Minor Oswald, Hiram Glyphics, Oily Dave and who knows how many more. While a schizophrenic musical life is never dull, it still doesn't pay well enough to keep you fed and shed in Michigan. So, John's currently exploring employment opportunities in Virginia. Maybe if we're all suddenly taken with his spastic modal inventions he can afford to move back, eh? In case you get homesick, John, we'll keep the light on fer ya here at MB's Original Artists / Psychedelic category.
Check out Shrimpanzee @ Myspace

| Michgianbands.com welcomes Morseville Bridge |
If you're a fan of the snarling acoustic irreverence of bands like The Violent Femmes, Camper Van Beethoven and The Dead Milkmen, chances are you're going to dig the latest entry to our Original Artists / Indie Rock category. Morseville Bridge are a trio out of Flint, Michigan whose songs trample along like a wayward street-muse whacking on anything that makes an interesting "clank". They're loose, they're unpredictable, they're musical and probably organically medicated. In any case, it works and it's an interesting find. Welcome to MB.
Listen to Morseville Bridge on MySpace.
