Bazooka Jones gig 8-26-2006 at The Old Miami
washtub writes i was driving to the Bazooka Jones gig Saturday night, a bit frazzled from the earlier day's work interracting with my never boring home life.
I had the AC on in the minivan when ploook!, I felt a cold drip hit my right cheek. Traffic was moving fast and the lanes were crowded, so I just sorta shook my face real quick, but the spot remained.
It was night so it was dark in the minivan and I was momentarily blinded from seeing brights in the rearview mirror. I let go of the steering wheel with one hand and brushed my face but the cold spot moved...

Show Review: Flophouse @ Tale Gators
deadenddetroit writes Here is a tale of my evening: My goal is to be in Dearborn Heights at the Tail Gators bar on Van Borne west of Telegraph by 10:00 pm. I was under-rested. I was tired all day long and hung over from Friday's drinking binge. It was all for a good cause. If you haven't seen nor heard of Doyle Bramhall II you are missing out. I copied the PPV concert that's going on right now from iNdemand and that's when I had a few too many that resulted in my thick head all day yesterday.

 ElectrOrganism: Reconnect / Show Review
From the If-you-don't-do-it-yourself-it-don't-get-done-dept.: Our very own Sonic Disturbance (a.k.a. Joe Luellen) took it upon himself to give a play-by-play review of the ElectroOrganism: Reconnect show at Bert's On Broadway. His electronic MySpace collective has 101 members, twenty-one of whom performed over a two-day period providing twenty-four hours of electronic music! But he's not only the president, he's a member who was right there in the midst of the action.

OK so everyone chases rock and roll dreams!
sonicdisturbance writes OK so everyone chases rock and roll dreams but some how I have woke up and found myself in Three Different Projects playing Three Different Genres on Three Different Instruments.

How did all this happen?

In Sonic Disturbance: http://www.myspace.com/sonicdisturbance
My Live Techno Show I Make the Tracks and Play Keyboards Live.

So if that is not enough, after going to a bunch of Tuesday Night Open jams at the Double OO … I hooked up with a Freestlye Rapper Singer who is putting together a Funk / Rock / Hip-Hop Fusion Band – United Soul and I am playing the Bass Guitar and helping write the tunes. We have been working with different players Tuesday Nights at the Double O Pub and we did a show at Fifth Avenue – Detroit on March 9th and are looking to get out a play more gigs.

Show Review: Steffie Sings For Her Sex Change
Having captured the life experiences of a pre-op trans-gender in song, Stephanie Angeline Loveless gave three CD release parties at her home in Ferndale to introduce her debut, "Steffie Sings For Her Sex Change". Editor Mitch Phillips attended the last of the three parties and submits his report:
After twenty years of publishing Jam Rag for local musicians it seems the muses are now smiling on the soul formerly known as Tom Ness - which is just as it should be.

Review of Jackie Blue in NYC & NJ
by JJ Koczan
(Originally appeared in The Aquarian Weekly) The best in classic rock was always that which was derived directly from the blues. Cream. Led Zeppelin. Black Sabbath. These bands knew where it was at and they went there. So it is with Jackie Blue.
Formed in Detroit by bassist Tom Libertiny and the since-departed Chip Thomas at the turn of the century, Jackie Blue is neither a person nor a band member. Vocalist Carrie Firth, who joined in 2002 after the departure of both Thomas and then-singer Brent McKay, has her own name, and she likes it very much, thanks.

The Ludington natives have been hitting it hard this year playing over 70 shows in 2005 and has already scheduled 30 shows for 2006 with more shows being added weekly. Last Friday night the "Fatty Crew" struck again at Paisano's bar and grill in Three Rivers, Michigan. WOW, What a show!
