Tap Tap Tap - Is this thing on?

Well, it's been a while. Hasn't it? While I've been updating our Facebook Page, and our Other Facebook Page, I haven't been 'round here in a spell.....or two....ok, it's been maybe a year but we don't get the traffic around here we used to.

That said, there have been a few new band submissions so I hope they're all still together. If not, for posterity's sake, the new band submissions are as follows.

 Michiganbands.com would like to welcome:

Shotguns & Violins - original country

Close Call - covers / variety

Down Home - covers / variety

The Journey -  covers / tribute bands

Of course, you can find these bands and more on our Band Links Page here at MB.  - Mitch

Our Genius Dog Release First Single And Relocate

AlsoIt's been out for a while but ya might have missed it. Our Genius Dog! released their first single, "Also", on their own website, BandCamp, SoundCloud and a host of others I'm sure. While the new single bears no resemblance to the progressive/experimental sound-blurb I'd first heard on their Facebook page, "Psych Rock", it represents a good first pop/alternative effort by the trio, composed of Keenan Yates – Lead Vocals, Guitar, Austin Kintz – Bass, Backing Vocals, and Zach Sklener – Drums, Backing Vocals.

Origianally formed in Breckenridge, MI (west of Saginaw), the band has re-located to the Kalamazoo area to pursue their studies and continue to experiment with music. Good Luck, guys. - Mitch

Lordd Virgil Goes Into the Studio with Sponge Producers Andy and Tim Patalan
faith148 writes

Lordd Virgil's "Flint, Michigan" goes viral on YoutubeRocker Lordd Virgil is recording his global, viral hit song “Flint, Michigan” with Sponge producers Andy and Tim Patalan (Sponge, Taproot, Throttlebody). The original viral video for the song has been seen in 60 countries thanks to YouTube and now the rocker is taking the original bedroom-demo version of the song into the studio at The Loft in Saline, Michigan.

“Virtually, the video for ‘Flint Michigan’ did a world tour without me. Hey, what gives?!,” Lordd Virgil said with a laugh. “That video probably has more frequent flyer miles than Richard Branson, but the original song didn't travel much further than the bedroom until now. The least I could do was drive a couple hundred miles and get into the studio to make a proper recording.”
