Re: Has Commercial Radio Finally Gone Limp? (Score: 1)

I've heard a lot of radio resentment from the metal fans out there over the years, especially when it comes to grunge. Nobody likes being marginalized by the latest seller.
I remember when disco came around and pushed our favorite rock dinosaurs off the radio. Hell, back then the DJ's were bitching about it. Anybody remember WRIF's DREAD card? We all had 'em in high school. I can't even remember what the acronym stood for now (anybody?). They were burnin piles of disco records in the streets. Then New Wave came along and pushed disco out of the way. Punk was pushing rock aside on the periphery. Then hip-hop and rap came along...etc....etc... "This is the song that never ends....."

I'm old enough to remember when you could hear Black Sabbath on the same station as The Carpenters. CKLW out of Windsor is what I grew up on. Probably why I can appreciate so many different types of music.
