How does it work? Here's an outline:
1. Visit one of many Weed file sites (such as www.JackieBlue.com). Right-click on a Weed file link and select "Save As.." to save a Weed file to your hard drive. PAY NOTHING. 

2. You may play the file up to three times for free to decide if you like it. On the fourth play you will be asked by Weed to buy the track. Since you've played it three times, you must like it, so now you must buy it to keep listening to it. Fair enough? 

3. If you choose to buy the track, Weed will walk you through a brief setup of their software which will happen only once. They even give you a $5 credit towards buying your first files, and 50% of every sale goes directly to the artist! Guilt free music! 

4. Once you have bought the file, you may share it, burn it to a CD, put it in your portable music player, whatever you like. Its yours. 

5. If you share the file with someone and they buy it, you get 20% of the sale price! That's right: share the file five times and it pays for itself! Share it a sixth time, and you have made a profit helping distribute music you love! What could be better?! 

6. But wait there's more! For every person that your friend shares the file with, you get 10% of THAT sale! And every person THEY share it with, you get 5% of THAT sale! 

So let's recap: of each Weed file that is sold: 
-50% goes to the artist (unheard of!) 

-20% goes to the person who shared the file with you 

-10% goes to the person who shared it with the person who shared it with you 

-5% goes to the person who shared it with the person who shared it with the person who shared it with you! 

-15% goes to Weed
