Topic: Press Release

Three southwest Michigan rock groups have joined together to coordinate the Triple Threat 2004 concert series. The diverse roster contains Sonakofa, Gabriel Burns, and newcomers SXX. They plan to book shows as a packaged "3 bands for one" deal to help promote the area’s music scene, as well as raise the bar on each band’s performance with shorter, fine-tuned sets. The idea first started back in January when SXX’s Shawn Rainer and Sonakofa’s Steve Klingler were discussing what it would be like to consolidate resources and bring a festival vibe to the rock clubs in Michigan. With the economy keeping people at home, it made perfect sense to create a lean-mean concert that showcases each band with equal stage time. The idea is to give something that would bring people out on the weekend. This package is particularly attractive to club owners and agents who want a dependable, energetic night of entertainment at a great price.

Triple Threat 2004 kicks off at The Matterhorn in Marshall, Michigan on Friday, April 2nd, with additional dates in the works throughout the spring and summer.
