Ann Arbor can boast that it is home to one more indie band. Popular local hard-rock group Oblivion recently signed with New York City based independent label Audiokio Productions. The fast-growing music production firm, also home to hip-hop acts KastOne, Rec Circle, and solo artists Sivan Cotel, and Avi Arenfeld, will release Oblivion’s highly anticipated second full-length album "The Garden in the Machine" early next January. Oblivion is currently recording the album at 40 Oz. Studios in Ann Arbor. Oblivion features a technical, guitar-driven brand of rock music laden with heavy riffs and complex, ephemeral interludes.
Audiokio Productions formed around Sivan Cotel in 1997 and now supports a national and eclectic catalog of bands in rock, folk and hip-hop. The band will be previewing much of the new material slated for release on their upcoming album at Ann Arbor’s Blind Pig rock venue, on Wednesday, October 22nd. The show starts at 10:00 PM with special guests Inkvine and Median opening the show.
