Some say it was because they were that damn good. Others say it was fate. But, according to ibmonkey, the reason that Immigrant Blue is steadily gigging is "Well, we made some silly promises that big boys have to keep, so..." So strap in, and get ready for the next wave of IB entertainment!

Starting off on Saturday, August 23rd, Immigrant Blue will invade the East side for Moosapalooza, an all-day music event hosted by motorcitymusic.net at the infamous Moose MacGregor's, in Brownstown. When interviewed, guitarist Chris Frankhauser said "Whoa, we're playing in Detroit again? Cool!"

Then, next Wednesday, August 27th, Immigrant Blue is beginning its siege upon the fair town of Kalamazoo, appearing at Bronco Bash, the annual "Welcome back students!" celebration on the campus of Western Michigan University. Singer Sean Mansell says this is an important gig because "you get to go back to your roots, where the band started and give a little back." Adds drummer Dave Perry "There are going to be hot chicks there, right?!"

Then, on Saturday, August 30th, all heck will break loose at the local institution, Club Soda. Appearing with Immigrant Blue will be rock heavyweights the Kingsnakes, and Long Black Sedan. The reason? It sounded like fun.

Will Kalamazoo survive? Ibmonkey answers, "Damn, I hope not. Kzoo is pretty damn lame if you ask me. But hey, we have beer so it can't be THAT bad..."

After the demolition of Kalamazoo, the monkey is running back to the East side, this time to Hamtramck for the Michigan Bands fundraiser, at the Whiskey In The Jar, in Hamtramck. Come support some a great site, hear some great local music, and punch Jeff from SM-T in the stomach.
