Six Detroit Rock and Hip Hop Bands Perform a Free Show on Saturday March 8
Cleveland – With Eminem, The White Stripes and Kid Rock topping the charts, it’s clear that Detroit music is red hot. On Saturday, March 8, six buzz-worthy Detroit rock and hip hop bands will perform a free show at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Click "Read More" below for the whole story.

The performance is a preview of the Detroit Future Platinum showcase at the prestigious SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. With the exception of 60 Second Crush, all of the bands are stopping at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in route to the showcase at SXSW, which takes place on Saturday, March 15 at the Lava Patio Lounge.

Performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (in order of appearance) are: Molly, 60 Second Crush, Arthurkill, Mindcandy, Gold Cash Gold and Hush.

Molly turbo charged power pop punk whose demo garnered spins on over 44 commercial alternative rock stations. Now with the release of their debut CD “The Finger” (Idol Records), Molly is poised to ignite the charts with blistering singles “Punk Rock Girl” and “Girlfriend.”

60 Second Crush cranks out a lethal mix of killer guitar crunch, thumpin’ grooves and balls-out punk intensity. It’s a sonic siege that makes you dance, sweat and raise your middle finger in salute to music that’s Detroit's great rock and roll tradition.

Arthurkill: mesmerizing modern rock named after a Staten Island garbage dump. The dichotomy doesn’t end there – combining crunch and melody – Arthurkill’s stunning debut “Addiction” (Attack Records) is a magnificent lesson in beauty and pain.

Mindcandy’s fierce, loud rock is as hard as Detroit asphalt. Dark, brooding and melodic, Mindcandy’s amped up sound is an aural assault that hits the unsuspecting like a Detroit drive-by.

Gold Cash Gold fuses gorgeously crafted, hook-laden songs with intense live performances. With half the band members of now defunct Charm Farm (Mercury Records) and Uncle Kracker’s former rhythm section – Gold Cash Gold has enough musical chemistry to hit the jackpot.

Hush: As an equally gifted MC and producer, Hush is both skills-first MC and next school producer whose credits include work on Eminem's seminal Slim Shady EP and as producer and rapper with Da Ruckus.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located at One Key Plaza in Cleveland, Ohio. For more information please call the museum offices at 216-781-ROCK.
