The Kingsnakes, a five-piece Detroit based rock band, have been invited to perform at the 2003 South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival.Called the “domestic pop and rock industry’s most important annual gathering” by The New York Times, SXSW has invaded Austin, TX every March since 1987. The Kingsnakes consist of five members: Thomas Mann – vocals, Danny Muggs – Lead guitar, K.R. Barron – rhythm guitar, Tommy Diaz – bass guitar, and Stephen “Peelo” Pelloni – drums. Formed in 2000, the band has been on an upward roller coaster ride. Notably, they were chosen as one of eight finalists in The Palace Sports and Entertainment’s “Michigan’s Best Unsigned Band” contest, and also played at the annual North by Northeast festival held in Toronto.
Exact date and venue for their show at SXSW will be released by the end of February.
