The Orbitsuns are a countrified hybrid of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Elvis with a twist of Detroit Rock City and sly humor. While lead singer Vinnie Dombrowski garnered international fame with his platinum selling rock band, Sponge, The Orbitsuns are quickly gaining massive acclaim for their fire and brimstone laced country rock revival.
Now touring in support of their new CD “Redneck Disco,” The Orbitsuns have shared stages with numerous country luminaries including David Allen Coe, Blake Shelton, and Sawyer Brown.
“Redneck Disco” features 10 toe tapping tracks including twang hits “Haul Ass,” “Hard Part of Town,” and “Long Line of Sinners.” The Orbitsuns' cover of Johnny Cash's signature classic, “Boy Named Sue” is also a sonic highlight of “Redneck Disco.”
Copies of “Redneck Disco” will be for sale at the Downtown Hoedown, and are also available on The Orbitsuns' web sites: orbitsuns.com and myspace.com/orbitsuns , along with a complete list of upcoming tour dates for the band.
A detailed schedule for the Downtown Hoedown - which runs from Friday, May 9 through Sunday May 11, 2008 is available on Detroit Country radio station WYCD's web site at wycd.com.
