On Saturday, October 6th Jonah Nadir Omawale and other artists will be performing at Change: The Music - an event designed to highlight "the work of socially conscious artists who evoke strong, positive messages with their film, poetry, painting, dance, music, photography." The gathering promotes and supports grassroots activists, organizations and individuals who are working to make the world a better place. Change; The Music is a forum for people who believe that justice, social responsibility, political and economic equality, cultural diversity and self-determination should be the true foundation of a civilized society. The funds from this particular event will benefit three area groups (MI Impeach, A-28 and World Can't Wait) that are working to keep pressure on Congress to hold the Bush administration accountable for its actions, according to a recent MySpace message from Nadir.
