Where else can you find some of Detroit’s best bands getting together to celebrate a local music icon's birthday?. This year promises an entire weekend of fine musical performances.
The party will start on Friday, Dec. 15 at 10pm at 313.jac/Jacoby’s , the intimate live music venue where Stirling and co-host Sue Static have been presenting local entertainment for the past 9 years. ...includes the bands; Murder Mystery, a new young band called Citizen Smile, a new trio called The Prickly Stems and a set by Justin Case & Dooley Wilson for your entertainment pleasure. 313.jac is located upstairs from Jacoby’s located at 624 Brush St. in Detroit 313-962-7067.



On Saturday, Dec. 16 at 9pm the party moves to the Nothern Lights Lounge

...located at 660 W. Baltimore (btwn 2nd & 3rd St.) in Detroit’s New Center area 313-873-1739. This night will feature a stellar line up of bands including Youth of Rome (Augie-The Hard Lessons and Maria-The Decks), The Paybacks, The Sights, The Hard Lessons, a new yet un-named project featuring Marcie Bolan (Von Bondies) Sean Lynch (800 Beloved) and Deleano Acevedo. Cover for this show is $6 with a portion of the proceeds donated to WDET-FM, National Public Radio, the station that continues to support local music and who Stirling has been a strong advocate of for many years. A highlight of the weekend will be Stirling joining the various bands onstage for a variety of cover songs both nights.
