FLEDfive, West Michigan's own eight-year hard rock success story, have finished mixing their fourth full-length CD, tentatively self-titled. The release of this album will be marked by a concert April 21 2006 at the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, host to recent sellouts by Fallout Boy and Avenged Sevenfold. Support acts will include Pop Evil, Creepermode and Superman Package. Click "read more" below.
The band first entered the studio in October 2005, and the road to completion has been a long one.
"We are all juggling home and work with the band, so we weren't able to finish as fast as we wanted," commented vocalist/guitarist Brian Grooms. "The good thing is that we had more time to analyze what we liked and didn't like, so we ended up with a better CD."
The subjects covered are, as always, very personal and close to home. Relationships, betrayals, and other conflicts are all subject matter for the album's 13 songs, but there is a definite sense of optimism and catharsis throughout.
"I tend to write about what I know and things that affect me," adds Grooms, "and I think it's important for people to understand they're not alone with their problems. Everyone faces them at one time or another."
The band plans to release teasers in early April on its home page, Myspace and Pure Volume pages.
