GRAND RAPIDS, MI (PRWEB) June 30, 2005 -- Tuesday nights until 9 p.m. during the Summer, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is open to the public.
It is the perfect time to stroll the Sculpture Park, take the kids to the new Lena Meijer Children’s Garden, and beginning August 3rd, to catch popular West Michigan bands performing in the outdoor amphitheater. Click "read more" below.
The Tuesday Evening Music Club is a brand new five-week event designed to provide entertainment during the extended summer hours at the Gardens all for the regular price of admission. The Gardens will host acoustical concerts from West Michigan's finest songwriters and performers throughout the five Tuesday evenings in August. General admission gains concert-goers access to the concert as well as to the entire 125 acres of the Gardens prior to the concert.
Brent Dennis, Executive Director, stated, “We hope to bring more people to enjoy the Gardens during the evenings by creating a fun event that allows people to gather for music and musicians that they enjoy to hear”.
WLAV is once again the media sponsor for the series. “This venue is an amazing place to enjoy some of the finest talent in the Midwest,” said Ralston Bowles, who will be hosting the series for the Tuesday Evening Music Club Series.
The following bands and musicians will take the stage from 7 – 9 pm:
· August 2 : Rebecca Rodriguez - Drew Nelson - Potato Moon
· August 9: The Willeys - Oxter Mahone - The River Rogues Jazz Band
· August 16: The Underlings - Seth Bernard & Daisy May - Steppin' In It
· August 23: Karisa Wilson - Dave Molinari Band - Fonn Mor
· August 30: The Hummingbirds - Ralston Bowles and Special Guests
To enjoy the Tuesday Evening Music Club, people are allowed to bring low rise chairs or blankets to sit on in the amphitheater. They may also bring in food or picnics to eat in the Amphitheater area starting at 6 pm. No alcohol may be brought on premises, however beverages (beer, wine and soft drinks) may be purchased on site during the concert from 6 – 9 pm.
People will enter the concert through the main admission area at the Gardens, not the Amphitheater gates as with other concerts. The amphitheater will open at 6 p.m. with all concerts starting at 7 p.m.
Tuesday evening pricing, including concerts, is: Adults $10, Seniors $8, Students with ID $8, Children 5-13 $6, Children 3 4 $3, children under three are free.
All shows are rain or shine. No refunds will be offered once admission is purchased – People entering on Tuesday evenings in August to attend the concerts, may also visit all other areas of the Gardens, however, food and beverages must remain inside the Amphitheater location only.
