Kalamazoo indie rock band Mulligan will be releasing their first full length album ?The Tides of Blackheart Bay? at a special CD release party on Saturday, January 22nd at The Club Soda, 340 E. Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo.

The album, which took nearly six months to complete, was recorded at Dynamite Sound in Grand Rapids and features 12 tracks that cover a wide range of emotion and complexity. ?The Tides of Blackheart Bay? will be released on Kalamazoo?s Hearts On Fire Records label following three E.P.s that the band released on their own.

Mulligan, which includes guitarist Jakob Goheen, bassist Derek Feltner, and drummer Dustin Smith, has decided to donate a portion of the album?s proceeds to The Gryphon Place, a suicide prevention center located in Kalamazoo.

The CD release party will feature performances by Murder By Death, an indie band from Bloomington, IN, Ettison Clio, from Lansing, and Your Best Friend from Saginaw. Mulligan will end the evening with an extended 90 minute set. Admission to the party will be free to those 17 or older with a ten-dollar purchase of the new album at the door or online at www.mulliganmusic.com. The event, which is sponsored by 89.1 WIDR-FM Kalamazoo and WestMichiganMusic.com, will begin at 9:00 p.m.
