The 2005 Michigan Songwriting Contest is now open to all current and former residents of the state, and features 13 winners, a $1,000 cash prize, and performance and publicity opportunities. No age limits, no music categories, we're looking for Michigan's best songs: rock, folk, country, jazz, instrumental, Christian, alt-anything, hip hop. Each song judged is on its own merits.
Formerly the Metro Detroit Songwriting Contest (and formerly limited to Southeast Michigan residents), this year's contest is co-sponsored by Elderly Instruments and Lamb's Retreat for Songwriters.
