| Random Review: Seismic 3's Sucker Punch |
|
On a random trip through the band links, I came upon a song by SEISMIC 3 I could really identify with. "Loser On A Power Trip" is a hard-hitting revenge number directed at some poor slob who probably had the bad taste to share his honest opinion with the songwriter (I wonder who?). Click "Read More" below to to hear more about Seismic 3's musical sucker-punch.

| John Ludi Releases New Album, Millions Flee In Terror |
|
JohnLudi writes
John Ludi, musician, writer, social/political critic, paranormal researcher and serial pessimist, has just released yet another CD full of songs for the perennially fatalistic, called Rise Above or Fall Below.
Unlike his previous CDs, which featured merry little tunes written about war, death, the rising tide of illiteracy and ignorance, American hyper-materialism, the collapse of civilization and the occasional love song, this latest album has no love songs.

| Penumbrae Releases One Way Drive |
|
penumbrae writes
Melodic rockers Penumbrae recently finished their debut full length release, One Way Drive, to be released on Third Monk Records Saturday, May 21st.
In August 2004, Penumbrae began working with Third Monk producer/engineer Jeff Robinson (Toad the Wet Sprocket, American Music Club, The Rembrandts). Recording commenced at Ferndale's famed Tempermill Studios in September and finished in the spring of 2005. To retain the depth and warmth of their live sound, Robinson and the band recorded the basic tracks on analog tape, overdubbing digitally and then mixing down to analog masters.

Mitch writes Torque, that beast of a wrench-head I work with, was just telling me yesterday that out of his original circle of yoopers, he's the only one who still listens to rock and roll. The rest of the wild bunch listen almost exclusively to country music now. He qualified that confession by calling it "country rock", the way southerners qualify all flavors of soda with "Coke"; cherry coke,
orange coke, lemon coke, etc... Click "Read More" below.

| Hush "Bulletproof" on Geffen |
|
Mitch writes Most of us here on MB knew that local hip-hop artist HUSH got signed to Geffen Records last year, but now his major label debut, "Bulletproof" will be officially released on May 17th, 2005. The recording will feature tracks with
Eminem, D12, Nate Dogg & Talib KWFLI. 9,000,000 American t.v. viewers have already been getting a taste of HUSH (whether they knew it or not) as the bumper music on NBC's reality boxing show "The Contender". That's the beauty of having a major player in your corner - it's all about product placement baby.
Check Him Out before the HUSH becomes the hype.
