    Robb Roy

With the release of "Days of Pride & Hunger", Robb Roy have reached deep into their storied history to put together 14 tales of wonderfully crafted modern pop-rock gems. With the help of veteran Detroit producer, Jason Kuehn, the band has fleshed out the very best in Pop, Rock, and even a bit of Americana that influenced them as budding musicians.

Robb Roy show their love of rock in songs like, "Goodbye", "Battlelines", "Hole", and to the city where they cut their teeth, "Hamtramck". Their pop side shines through on "As I Am", "We", and the Beatles inspired "I Sleep". It's the leanings towards Americana though, that pull at the listener's heart. "Roll On" is a lush drive through the countryside of one of America's most treasured roads in search of contentment. "Scrapin' By" asks the question, "Are you the man you hoped to be?" At the very core of it all is the title track, "Days of Pride & Hunger". In this song the band warns, "Don't lose yourself to the past. Cherish the road and don't look back. It's not the end, but how you arrive". Arguably, this is one of the most powerful songs Robb Roy has written to date.

Robb Roy enlisted some of the most talented musicians Detroit has to offer in making this new record. Check out their performances.

    new video

Our new video for the song "What If" is directed by Kevin Carrico, who has also worked with The White Stripes. Set in the 1960's, the "What If" video is a shadowed portrait of loneliness and personal struggle told through the visualized thoughts of an unlikely subject: a space-aged super-spy. Roy Robberts is a powerful and successful jet-setting individual who, despite having every need - human or otherwise - no more than a push button away, longs to belong to something more important.

Although it's set in the 1960's, "What If" combines state-of-the-art 3D animation, virtual sets and motion capture with images from High Definition (HD) 24P and other Digital Video format cameras. "One of my main goals with this animation project was to make it look like it wasn't created on computers," says Carrico. "I wanted something very organic, very cinematic... and unlike modern music videos, very film-like." True to that vision, the video is reminiscent of German Expressionist films such as "Metropolis", and of the noir mainstay "Dr. Strangelove".

Check out the performances of the two central characters in the video by the multi-talented Dan Miller and Tracee Miller, both of the band Blanche. More information about the video is available at www.royrobberts.com.
