Hailing from Detroit, Sponge gained international notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata." Hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" fueled massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. After "Rotting Piñata" went Gold, the band toured internationally, sharing the stage with Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and more recently, Iggy Pop and Nickelback. Sponge's follow up CD, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic,” includes the hit songs "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?” Sponge is now touring in support of their newest CD “Galore Galore” (Bellum).
Marcy Playground became alternative radio darlings with their smash hit “Sex and Candy.” The song is still one of commercial radio's most recognizable hits. Marcy Playground's current single “Punk Rock Superstar” (from their latest CD “MP3”) is featured on Microsoft's X Box.
