| MCMF Includes Budget Video Category; Submission Now Accepted |

 The Detroit Music Awards, in co-operation with the Detroit Film Center, is again recognizing excellence in the category of OUTSTANDING MUSIC VIDEO/LIMITED BUDGET. This category honors the artistic achievement and vision of area bands, producers, directors, editors and production personnel working in the cinema arts in the Motor City.

No other development in the music industry in the last 30 years has had more influence on the world than the music video. The music video has a pivotal role in mainstream culture in the way artists promote themselves and connect with audiences. By comparison, no single cinematic form has developed as quickly as the music video, which is, at its best, a breeding ground for cinematic innovation.
In order to foster innovative development in this important cinematic form, the MCMF and the DFC will honor the local talent who strive to promote this city and its music through the visual cinematic form, the music video.

Music videos eligible for the 2007 Detroit Music Awards must promote recordings that have been released between December 1st 2005 and November 30th 2006. All music videos must feature local acts. All music videos are required to have been produced with the consent of the musical artist. Media will not be returned, but will be available for pick-up at the DFC after April 21, 2007.
