Jingle Bell Jam 2006: Slots Still Open, Donations Needed
cherri writes The first Saturday in December is the Manistee Victorian Christmas celebration. The Jingle Bell Jam has been part of the festivities for the last four years. We (Cherri & The Violators) work with local social organizations, radio stations, the chamber, and other volunteers to put on a big shindig in Manistee. This year there will be five bands, food, a silent auction, and cash bar.
If your band would like to volunteer for a slot, please let me know ASAP! If you can't make it, perhaps you'd like to donate a CD or swag for the silent auction?

Click "read more" below for details.

The admission to the event is a cash donation or new, unopened toy. Every penny and toy raised is donated to the local Toys for Tots and Gifts for Teens program.

Everyone volunteers, the bands, the bar staff, the sound techs and roadies.

I have three committed bands, and one slot is reserved for a band who's members are all still in high school. Thats' another cool feature of this event. These high school kids up on stage with a pro PA and sound, strut their stuff. They tend to bring the most people to the event, too!

So why am I posting this here? It's geographically far away for most of you.

Two reasons:

1. If a band of any genre would like to volunteer for a slot, please let me know. ASAP!! The publications that support us are already looking for the linep!! No raging cuss words - it's a family friendly Christmas event - but all genres are considered There is one slot left. We're also trying not to repeat bands except the two bands who founded the event, The Rock Supply and CNV.

2. Even if your band can't make it, would you be interested in donating one of your CD's for our silent auction?

Please contact me if you would like to join us or help out.
