2nd Annual Acoustic Howell Opera House Benefit
jsinfo writes The Livingston Underground, Blue Collar Booking and Productions, and The Livingston Arts Council would like to announce the 2nd Annual Howell Opera House Acoustic Benefit Show. The event will be taking place on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Howell Opera House. We will be featuring acoustic and folk musicians on both levels of the building during the event, as well as offering the public tours of this historic facility. All proceeds from an $8 door price will go to benefit the renovation of the Howell Opera House. Click "read more" below for details.

Local folk musician Matt Watroba will be headlining the event. Matt has been the host of a wonderful folk music program on public radio called "Folks Like Us", and was awarded "Best Overall Folk Performer" in the year 2000 by the Detroit Music Awards. You can find out more about Matt at www.MattWatroba.com.

Also on the bill are area musician Amy Heard (another Detroit Music Award winner), Detroit's Markita Moore, Howell's own Chad Heckler, Brighton folk duo Wood and Strings, Brighton acoustic rock duo Incidental Music, Brighton singer/songwriter Justin Strane, and Brighton acoustic solo musician Steve Smalls. Links to their websites are listed below.

This event is open to all ages, and doors open at 6pm, with music beginning promptly at 630pm.
