 The Future of Cursed Eternity
XevKai writes This is a message posted on the Cursed Eternity website by guitarist/vocalist Joe Grode:

"Hails to all.

Cursed Eternity Cursed Eternity has been a part of my life in most ways since about 1993 or 94, when Alan Budlong and I started this. We have been through so many musicians through out the past 10 years or so, it's very hard to remember everyone who has played a part with this band. Everything I've done with my life through out my remaining years in school, and beyond has always revolved around this band. We've busted our asses to keep things going, gone through just about every genre of metal, made 120 mile round trips to rehearsals, played shitty clubs to very little people, made enemies, made friends...

Which is why it's so hard to have to tell everyone that the band is on indefinite hold.As of now, Cursed Eternity will be strictly a writing project for myself, and who ever I can rope into it. We may release more CD's, but they will revolve around time schedules and the finances to do so. But as of right now, I think the best thing for myself personally is to get away from Cursed Eternity in general for a while. The band has an endless cycle of building steam to a certain point, then crashing to a halt, and starting all over. It's not fair to the fans who come out to the shows for one year, not hear about us for the next year, and have to hear an entirely new band the next year. Most the time foregoing the old material for a new style, sound, or what have you. But most of all I can't keep bailing water out of a sinking ship. Eventually it's gonna sink, but this captain doesn't give a damn about the code, he's gonna steal the last life boat and build a new ship.

Though, Cursed Eternity wasn't a bad thing. I've met so many people through this band. I've also played with so many great musicians; Mike Hudson, Kris Finison, Dick Ward, Justin Hyde, Mike Stith, Mike Parks, Tom Brogan, Brad Ball, and Alan Budlong... Just to name a few. Not to mention the one nonmusical member who has helped drive this band that went from being a fan, to eventually turning into a manager, John Otremba, without him this last year would not have been possible. Also to anyone else who has been involved I thank you for giving me the opportunity to make music with/for you, and I apologize for the problems I may have created over the years. You all gave your time, and effort in at least some small way, for that Im grateful. I hope to work with you all again sometime.

I have joined a new band that is forming here in Detroit, with new people who have had nothing to do with Cursed Eternity. Im starting fresh, this band doesn't even have a name yet. But I assure you, from what we have written so far you will be impressed, I sure as hell am. The only thing I can say as of now, is that be ready for a new heavy metal assault to begin sometime this year. I am focusing all my effort into this project for the time being, testing the waters away from Cursed Eternity. Im sure, if all goes well this band can pick up where Cursed Eternity left off, and move into an entirely different level... Stay tuned for that.

One question that needs to be answered is: "Are we playing a final show, a send off show, or something along those lines?" The answer is no. At this point I feel that a Cursed Eternity Final show would not be a good idea, mainly cause the doors aren't shut. The band may again return to the stage, or record again. Only time will tell. At this point I'd rather leave it the way it is, and just say good-bye for now. If it does end up being the end, then we'll just let it fade away from this point on...

But in one way shape of form, I will always have something up my sleeve for this band.

My eternal thanks to every fan of this bands music, and I'll leave you with this... It's not over... Even when I say it's over! "
