Why bring Electronic Acts from Michigan and Ohio and all over the Midwest To the Double OO Pub in Redford.
Well, the Double OO is one of Michigan’s favorite Dive Bars. No Cover and Affordable Drinks mean, you can walk in with $10.00, have a couple of drinks and check out a few Live Acts. What other bar in the Metro Detroit Area can you get that kind of deal?
Also, the Double OO, while it may be small, treats Bands Fairly. There is no Pressure to Sell X Amount of Tickets or else face buying up the tickets and Losing Money. You don’t have to Pay Soundman Fees or PA Rental Fees and then hope you break even off the door. It is a place where acts can try to grow a following. Because of this, I can bring in Trip-Hop, Industrial or Techno Acts all under the 1st and 3rd Thursday Umbrella.
Most importantly is the fact that the Double OO is willing to give you a try if you will show up, play and be responsible. Most Electronic Music thrives in DJ Only type of clubs, but what about people who are Producing Tracks and want to do a Live Show, where do they go to play? Well with the Double OO Pub there is a place. With The Impaler & Friends Holding Down 2nd and 4th Thursdays and Sonic Disturbance & Friends On 1st and 3rd Thursday New Acts have a chance to get out and play and not feel like they are pressuring there Friends into Buying Tickets. No Cover means less Stress for everyone.
What Happens on a month with Five Thursdays? On the 5th Thursday Sonic Disturbance Opens Up For The Impaler. The Impaler started Thursday Nights at the Double OO, with Sonic Disturbance opening every 1st Thursday, with the new format 5th Thursday are like Throwback Thursdays.
