Twenty years after performing at the Clio Area Amphitheater,  rock musician Lordd Virgil returns to give back to Shrine Children.

(Flint, MI)June 9, 2010 - It was twenty years ago, nearly to the day, that a teenage Lordd Virgil headlined the “Rock in the Park” festival at the then recently-completed Clio Area Amphitheater.

On Saturday June 12, 2010, this former student of Clio Area Schools will perform the 8 pm slot at this year’s Circus Park Extravaganza for Shrine Children. The three-day event, that features several bands, carnival rides and many other attractions, will take place June 11-13, 2010 at the Shrine Circus Park, located at 4240 W. Wilson Rd. in Clio.

Lordd Virgil and his band of the same name will perform a full set of songs from the catalog of rock icons KISS.

“We wanted to play songs that the kids could enjoy and their parents would enjoy too,” said Virgil. “KISS is certainly a band that crosses the generations.”

Lordd Virgil is also registered in an internet-driven contest, sponsored by Guitar Center music stores, in which the winner would perform with KISS on September 11 at DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, MI.
 
“We had a chance to open for KISS several years ago and some of the band members couldn’t perform. Now, with a new line-up, we hope that our fans, friends, family and the rest of the world will give us a second chance.”

The Lordd Virgil set will also include two songs from the band’s upcoming (and yet untitled) third release that is currently in production. One of these songs, “Flint, MI” was written in an effort to bring attention to the long-term economic plight of the front-man’s birthplace.

“We’re pulling out all the stops for the Shrine kids” said Virgil.  “It’s going to be an amazing show. We’ve never disappointed an audience before and I don’t believe this time will be any different.”
