 Detroit singer-songwriter Doop and his band the Inside Outlaws continue to climb the Americana charts with their second album "Everett Belcher." Released in late summer, the album quickly garnered favorable reviews in his hometown and was noticed by websites and radio stations across the globe.
Doop was a featured guest interview on the American Public Media radio show "The Story" and the award-winning podcast Digivegas.com. His songs were also featured on the #1 rated Americana podcast, "Americana Roots Roundtable" debut on No Depression.com and Country Music Pride's special podcast. Americana Daily named "Everett Belcher" the Aug. 31st "Album of the Day." Radio stations worldwide, from Texas to Australia have also added the songs to their playlists.
Americana Roots.com writer Don Zelazny also included the album in his Top Ten of 2009 and had this to say about Doop, "We have had so much great music come out of Detroit. I think hands down the best songwriter we now have to offer the Americana World is Don "Doop" Duprie."
The 10-song album, "Everett Belcher," follows in the footsteps of the successful debut "Blood River," released in 2007. The album is an ode to Doop's grandfather and the people like him; the hard-working individuals who relocated from their hometowns in search of work and a better life for their loved ones and the sacrifices they made to attain it, only to have it all disappear. Doop dedicated the album, "To all the hard-working people in this town that spent the better parts of their lives busting their asses only to see it all fall apart." The album includes his anthem-"Burn This City," a workingman's tale called "M.F.N.J.O.B." and his rendition of "Prove it all Night" by Bruce Springsteen.
The second album - once again with engineer/producer Jim Diamond at the helm, was recorded with a variety of the Detroit's hardest working musicians; Pete Ballard, Bobby Emmett, Dave Shettler, Chris Codish, Eddie Baranek, Matt Dmits, Whitey Morgan and Ty Stone.
