wiki writes I recently adopted a WebRing at webring.com that was called the "Michigan hard Music Ring". The Ring only has a few member's sites in it currently so now that I am the Ringmaster I decided to change the Ring's title to the "Michigan Bands WebRing". I hope that by doing this I can increase the Ring's membership. Here is a good way to promote local bands and show your support and also promote your own band while doing so. Click "Read More" below. This
is by far the best and easiest way to link to other local bands on the web. This
way you won't ever have to update your band links page again and the list of
band's sites will just keep on growing with the more members that join. I also
set up a forum on the Ring's hub page that we can use to promote shows,
press releases, or just shoot the breeze. I will also set the Ring up so that
the websites with the most daily hits to their site will remain on top of the
Ring's hub page. So feel free to email
me if you would like me to send you an invitation to join the Michigan
Bands WebRing, or you can just go to the Ring's
hub page and join there at the top right of the page. You can even join the
WebRing right now if you like by clicking here:

Thanks for your time and hope to see some of you join the new WebRing.

Not everybody has control of their site and some are downright against throwing their support into a group that they have no knowledge of the participants. I don't care. Just as long as I don't smell like 2 month old grass clippings that have been sitting in a black garbage bag in the sun, I'm ok.
I've also heard some people say that the navigation code I ugly. Yah I think so too, but thank god I have an ugly web site. It fits right in.
I'm a bit disappointed to where I have ta put the code though. Our hole site is viewed thru a frame. I would rather of put the code(s)(I got both working) on our "Links" page but then somebody that came into the site from the ring would miss the frame and all the other great content that we have for people that go thru the front door. Oh well. I'll think of some way to fix it....... Later.

What you do if you don't like seeing the Ring's navigation bars on your homepage is just create a new html page for your website and name it "webrings.html" Then put all of your webring nav-bars on that page. I allow that in my Rings.
You can see an example of this on my site at www.northernmichiganmusicscene.com
PS: Don't you feel better now? |
