 MB Veteran Michael Galvan (a.k.a. Jami Stone)

Biography: Jami Stone aka Michael Galvan


1965 began giving private guitar lesson at age 15 while employed by Harry Whitney Theatrical Arts, Melvindale, Michigan
1966 Asked by Allen Park High School counselors to teach adult education guitar class in place of an adult teacher who could not fill the position; 1st nightclub/lounge gig at 16 years old-Vans Lounge-Dearborn, Michigan
1967 Starred as “Conrad Birdie” in the high school musical “Bye Bye Birdie”; Came in 2nd place in the senior talent show; played back-up to the vocalist who came in 1st place in the senior talent show; Graduated Allen Park High school-June; entered Detroit Institute of Music part time-June; entered Henry Ford College part time; working 6 nights a week as professional musician

Over the previous 4 years, while in high school, taught guitar and bass at Weaver Music Company; played in local Allen Park, Michigan bands: Nobleman IV, Village Beaus, Kleiggs, Virgin Dawn and The Danny Tyrell Jazz Trio. Played at high school dances, youth night clubs, weddings and corporate events.

From the years 1967 through 1973 played with the following groups:

  • Danny Tyrell Trio
  • Brotherhood
  • 3 Man Army
  • FB Sun
  • Primal Scream: featuring Dan Honaker, bass, formerly with “Bob Seger System” and Jim Craig, drummer, formerly with “Third Power” - both groups had commercial albums
  • Virgin Dawn
  • Cash Exchange


Played with other music groups playing hard rock, jazz, blues, country and commercial favorites throughout the Detroit Metro area, Canada and Northern Ohio - see list; Opening act for the Righteous Brothers and Stevie Wonder at the Metropole Supper Club in Windsor, Canada; did some commercial studio recording i.e. Saginaw State Bank commercial; recorded unreleased “Something” (Beatles) at United Sound; background guitarist for Shirley Franklin and Delta Drive on unreleased single.

I can play the _ _ _ _ out of a guitar! Sing lead, have equipment to fill a concert hall and experience second to none. I do all styles (not into doing originals unless your independantly wealthy and can pay me) and am looking for a project. All I ask is that you either be working or close to working and want add another artist to your group. Hire me!
