mitch writes It's been years now since we closed the forums - which was probably not the smartest thing to do in the age of "social networking". But they sucked a lot of time and energy due to abuse, spammers, malcontents, etc.. We didn't have the time to babysit bandheads to make sure they treated one another with courtesy and respect. It's that lack of trust and solidarity, I'm convinced, that has led our country, and this website, to the sorry state they are in today. But there are a few true believers out there who, despite their better interest, continue to fight the good fight for local music. One of those people, Jeff (Wiki) of MichiganMusicians.com, has volunteered to do what we refuse to do - moderate the forums. There's a few bugs to work out yet, but watch for their return. - Mitch

(User Info | Send a Message | Journal) | I have a question/concern about Jeff (Wiki) of MichiganMusicians.com.
I have a listing at MichiganMusicians.com and I used to check into the site daily. Several weeks ago, as I was logging in, I got hit with a virus. My firewall stopped the attack and I shut down my internet connection while I did a complete virus scan, spyware scan and security check.
I then reaccessed the internet and tried, once again, to log into MichiganMusicians.com. I got hit with the virus again. Ditto the entire process of scans and virus removal. I haven't attempted to log into the site since then.
I would be interested in anyone else's experience with that site. Has anyone else sufferred a virus attack? Does anyone know if the site has been cleaned? Does Jeff (Wiki) know of such activity?
I couldn't email Jeff about this because, other than messaging via MichiganMusicians.com, I didn't have an email address for Jeff.
I would like to hear that the site is clean and free of viruses and spyware. Does anyone out there know? |

I was unaware of the virus, but that was about the time we got hacked on our old server ... so I changed web hosts. The site is clean now bro. |
