| Fox Rocks Winner Announced and Questioned |

 Fox 2 Detroit just announced the winner of their My Fox Rocks battle of the bands. The Matt Austin Band has been chosen to open up for Def Leppard and Styx at DTE on Tuesday, July 24th. Austin beat out hundreds of local bands from the metro Detroit area including some of our favorites. Coincidentally (or not), it was also announced that The Matt Austin Band was chosen to compete in Simon Cowell's new Fox franchise "The Next Great American Band" - which leads this cynic to question the validity of the contest. I know there will probably be some "sour grapes" comments from the lucky winners, the Fox producers and even Austin's fans (we're certainly not saying they don't deserve the shot - sounds like a decent band), but do you believe the results of this particular contest were pre-determined as a local promotional vehicle for The Next Great American Band? Does it matter? Vote in our latest survey and please feel free to chime in with your comments below.

And did anyone happen to think that maybe the winner found out before the announcement so they could interview them on TV. And maybe he is friends with this certain DJ who didnt know not to "spill the beans." Everyone has to dawg the winner. Obviously they are headed in the right direction if they have this much support and good things are happening to them when they have only been a band a short time. Lets leave it to pure talent!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! |

And come to find out that who came in 2nd and 3rd place are also "friends" with this particular DJ. Nevertheless,Matt Austin does rock because I have seen a show or two,so dont confuse the "dawging." It was more for the contest rather than the artist. Funny though...I have the winners along with 2nd and 3rd place bands as my myspace friends....not one bulletin trying to gather votes from ANY of the top three bands. GO MATT AUSTIN!! Represent DETROIT and say HI to Simon Cowell for US!! |
