Perfect Summer:
Electro / Pop / Retro
Perfect Summer is a three-piece electronic pop group that includes live
violin and two female singers who happen to be sisters. The music has a
hint of 80's pop band Berlin and early Madonna mixed with the likings
of newer acts such as The Postal Service. Creative and catchy music that makes you want to dance. Influneces include; Metric, Controller.Controller, The Lovemakers, Lo-Fi Sugar, The Faint, HyperBubble, Peaches.
The Lager House writes: The Lager debut for this incredibly charming new local act that needs to get to the ears of more local music fans! There are drum machines, great female vocals, strangely tasteful violin parts and a sound that is poppy, warm and huggable but also very electronic and new wavey as well. You’ll like ‘em. Trust me!" -(Lager House)

That's what's great about Detroit, you can be in 3 bands.
I was always in a band when I lived near Detroit.

Since I moved to northern Michigan I can't even find or form one. To tell you the truth that is the only real thing I miss about Detroit is the music scene.

I guess I should count my blessings.
I was thinking I was getting too many things cooking, when maybe I can be thankful there are more than enough different places where I can play three gigs / three genres.

Definitely, Detroit is a great place to be if you are a musician that likes to write and perform your own music.
There are many places to play, many musicians to work with, and many people who like to go out and listen to local Indie music.

Sean had moved from the post industrial age wasteland of Cleveland, Ohio to this haunting land of jazz funerals and brass bands with Trent Reznor and the band Nine Inch Nails. As Trent's longtime engineer, co -producer, and musical director, Sean helped forge the sound of NIN from studio to the stage.
While Sean was producing the Atlantic Records band "Kill Hannah" the request to add a female voice to a chorus led him to ask the lovely Juliette to add some vocals on the last day of recording. When Juliette started to sing, the texture and dynamic of her voice bewitched both Sean and his engineer "Critter".
The two decided to become 8mm, a name that reflected the tone of their songs. The image of an old 8mm projector whirring in a clandestine back room called to mind innermost secrets and forbidden desires. The kind of thoughts we keep to ourselves, the hidden motives that drive our public lives. Very much influenced by the pulse and undercurrent of the haunted and haunting New Orleans and the bluster and underlying power plays that accompany even a simple "hello" in Los Angeles, 8mm has opened our diaries and shown us how alike we are.

Windsor, Ontario, Canada is where it's all taken place. The past few years have seen the project grow from a few scribblings in a book to full live performances and a more than full length release. The sounds pass from soothing through intense to crashing. The lyrics concern a questioning of modern values and of reality itself. The long awaited debut album 'in dreams of something new i have not been well' is available now after 6 years of anticipation and patience. We are presently arranging retail distrubution.

Ether Aura www.etheraura.com
To trace the origin of the Detroit based dreampop quartet Ether Aura, we have to go back to April 1993 and the formation of goth-rock group Caelum Bliss. Formed by instrumentalist Tony Hamera, drummer William King, Caelum Bliss took the Detroit
underground music scene by storm..
In late 2003 the seeds of Ether Aura were being sown. Hamera, alongside neoteric vocalist Kate Hinote, began collaborating musically exploring sonic landscapes
ranging from ethereal dreamscapes to hook-laden indie rock to swirling detonations
of feedback and noise. Graveconcerns Webzine describes Ether Aura and their debut release: Rounding out this incarnation is ex-Caelum Bliss/Deathgirl.com
drummer William King & Sweatysuedelips front man Bret Haupt playing bass.

In June 2005 Ether Aura inked a deal with California-based independent label
The Gaia Project who, shortly thereafter, released their debut CD Crash.
Ether Aura continues to play in and around the Detroit area and is in the process
of writing new music.

Chiasm www.chiasm.org
Emileigh Rohn is Chiasm.
The project began in 1997 in Detroit, MI, after college and while in grad school for molecular biology. I had always used music and art as an emotional outlet for my frustrations, and with my career becoming more and more narrow in its field, I began to feel more trapped than ever. So I created my own musical project, named Chiasm, after the crossing of optic neurons in the brain that allow us to have continuous and peripheral vision. In the same way, the project allows me to maintain a full view of the world as opposed to the narrow perspectives I have encountered. I depend on it for balance to this day, and
