tranzmission writes
A lot of rumors have been floating around Detroit concerning that 20-year-old Detroit mainstay known as “Jam Rag”. Those rumors will now be laid to rest.
Jam Rag Press has been purchased, ink dry and state registered, as of March 7, 2006. The former pending deal did not work out. “Jam Rag Press” was offered to us February 9, 2006 and the deal was sealed on March 6, 2006. Click "read more" below for details. A lot of changes are in place. There will be a new look, a new vibe, but the same local feel. What exactly is local? We want to branch out to bring local music from Grand Rapids, Saginaw, Lansing, Detroit, Flint, and Ann Arbor accessible to readers and music fans from all over.
Our advertising is geared towards music. We are going back to the streets, garages, clubs, bars, and all venues for MUSIC. LOCAL MUSIC. All ages, all genres………
We will be doing 4 issues to finish out 2006; June/July, August/September, October/November and December.
For the bands, artists and groups: We have a band billboard page – inexpensive every month
Promotion. Any band, artist or group interested in press coverage, show review or CD review can request all information by e-mail @ jamission@gmail.com.
Are you a writer? Submit a review of show or CD, article for print, and receive an ad placement for your band or business FREE!!!!!!!
We have a massive amount of advertising ideas to bring music; venues and “Jam Rag Press” back together again - STRONGER than before.
We have a new website under development with a new layout, a new look and an ALL NEW COMMITMENT!

Re: Jam Rag Under New Ownership (Score: 1) by MediaQueen on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 @ 16:37:44 MST (User Info | Send a Message) | Well...It may seem JamRag is sold, but actually it is still owned by my partner and I! It is premature to post this news on this site, as legal litigation is underway. I do not think that bullying Steffie and Sue into a position where they felt obliged to sign a document with Tranzmission Studio was the way to go. It would have been good perhaps to have oraganized some combined efforts, but it seems that was not the way Tranzmission operates...more of a cut-throat approach. The outcome will soon become clear as to who really owns Jam Rag Press!

PS It is indeed possible, as in this case, to go ahead and register a name at State level that does not belong to you, but that is known as 'theft by conversion'....technically a felony... |

Hi Mike!
It's stephanie, from Jam Rag.
Negotiations with the expected new owners of the paper appear as if they
are falling through.
You had expressed interest in taking over yourself, last Fall.
Are you still interested?
We had offered the other owners extremely friendly terms. And we worked
with them closely to get them started. But it hasn't worked out well in
return.
Please let me know right away if you would like to discuss the matter.

You have your mag I have mine, please research the company you formed and the name you have been useing "Jamrag Media" we are stating here for the record WE ARE NOT USEING THE NAME "Jamrag media". We also have a different layout of the name yours by city records is "Jamrag Media" , ours is "Jam Rag Press". Maybe a small but a legal thing. Also please refer to your e-mails that were sent via computer and phone withdrawing all use of the Jam Rag name. |
